Why is every price here in Rupiah, not dollars?
Because it has to be. Under Bank Indonesia Regulation No. 17/3/PBI/2015 (the Obligation to Use Rupiah), every transaction settled inside Indonesia must be priced, quoted, invoiced and contracted in IDR. A USD, EUR or SGD figure can only appear as a clearly labelled “for reference only” conversion — never as the contractual currency.
That is not a formality. As of 2026, enforcement can reach written warnings, financial penalties up to IDR 1,000,000,000 (or 1% of transaction value on non-cash breaches), and criminal exposure of up to one year jail or IDR 200,000,000 for refusing Rupiah cash. So when a Bali venue “quotes you in dollars,” that dollar figure is legally a reference — the binding number on your contract will be Rupiah. We quote that way from the first email to avoid re-papering the deal later. USD conversions on this page use an indicative rate near IDR 16,300 = USD 1; your final quote locks the Rupiah.
What does a day-delegate rate actually include in Bali?
A standard corporate DDR bundles the meeting room, two coffee breaks, a working lunch, basic in-room AV (screen, projector, PA, flip charts) and standard stationery. Half-day rates trim one break and shorten room hours. Premium resort ballrooms (BNDCC, BICC at The Westin, Merusaka, AYANA-cluster spaces — all arranged via the venue) sit at the top of each band.

How much is a gala dinner and the offsite line items?
Gala and evening functions are priced per head on top of the DDR, and they move fast with venue, menu tier and entertainment. Corridor beach clubs and cliff-top venues in Jimbaran carry a premium over in-hotel ballrooms.

Note the single-use plastic rule: under Governor Wayan Koster’s Circular Letter SE No. 7 of 2025, plastic bags, Styrofoam, plastic straws and plastic-packaged drinks are banned at venues and offsites. Compliant service (glass, paper, refill stations) is built into supplier quotes, so don’t budget a “cheaper plastic” line — it doesn’t legally exist here.

Two compliance anchors here. Transport and cultural-site guides must be licensed under SE No. 7 of 2025 — we only book certified operators, which is why the low end of “guide” and “transfer” isn’t lower. And keep transfer times generous: Bali’s connectivity upgrades run to 2030, so corridor traffic remains a real constraint, especially Nusa Dua to Ubud.

The DMC fee is transparent, not buried in inflated line items. It covers sourcing, contracting in IDR, on-ground coordination, a dedicated event manager, and compliance handling (Love Bali tourist levy per delegate via lovebali.baliprov.go.id, licensed-supplier verification, plastic-free service). Room-only accommodation is quoted separately against your chosen room block.
How does booking and payment work?
- Send the brief. Dates, pax count, program length, budget band, must-have venues. WhatsApp is fastest.
- Scoped IDR quote. We return an itemised Rupiah quote within 2–3 working days, USD shown reference-only, with named candidate venues (subject to availability).
- Site inspection or virtual walk-through. Optional, arranged with the venue.
- Contract in Rupiah. Deposit typically 30–50% to confirm the room block; balance staged to the event date.
- On-ground delivery. Your event manager runs the corridor logistics, supplier coordination and compliance on the day.
One planning note on money movement: under Law No. 8 of 2010, anyone carrying cash or instruments worth IDR 100,000,000 or more in or out of Indonesia must declare to Customs (failure triggers a 10% deduction, capped at IDR 300,000,000). In May 2026, Bank Indonesia (Governor Perry Warjiyo) also tightened undocumented cash FX purchases from USD 50,000 to USD 25,000. Settle event invoices by bank transfer in IDR and advise delegates to change money at licensed changers showing official Bank Indonesia QR codes.
