Bali Art Festival
The 2013 event will be the 35th year for the Bali Arts Festival. Ususally conducted in June-July, the month-long event features nightly performances of groups of musicians, dancers and theatre performers from Bali, other parts of Indonesia and invited foreign troupes. (www.baliartsfestival.com)
Bali Governor’s Cup Golf Tournament
Held in October each year
Bali International Kite Festival
Held over a weekend in July each year on Padang Galak Beach in North Sanur. Hundred of huge kites flown by local teams compete for honours.
Bali Spirit Festival
A festival of yoga, dance and music held in Ubud. Festival dates in 2013: 20-24 March. (www.balispiritfestival.com)
BALINALE Film Festival
A week-long event, usually held in October, showc asing Indonesian and Internationalf films. Past films launched at BALINALE have gone on to win awards at other leading film festival. (www.balinale.com)
BII Maybank International Marathon
Launched in April 2012 with over 2,000 participants. The date for the 2013 event was still to be confirmed at the time of publication. (www.balimarathon.com
BIZNET Bali International Triathlon
An award-winning Olympic and half-triathlon held in Jimbaran and the Nusa Dua Peninsula. Dubbed the “Triathlon for the soul”, over 1,000 athletes are expected to attend the 2013 event to be held on Sunday, June 23. (www.balitriathlon.com
International Bali Mediators Festival
“One Earth, One Sky, One Humankind: Towards the Global Peace and Interfaith Harmony through Meditation”. Usually held in September, with music and dance performances, and formal sessions, discussions and workshop on meditation. (www.balimeditates.org
Sanur Village Festival
Held in August/September. A multy-day festival of the arts, food and music involving the diverse community of Sanur. (www.gotosanur.com
Nusa Dua Fiesta
Centered in the Nusa Dua Complex and featuring performance teams from across Bali and many hotels and businesses found in Nusa Dua, this annual event is usually held in September or October.
A street fair of food, entertainment and partying in Kuta. Dates vary, but is usually held in September/October.
Ubud Writers & Readers Festival
Held over five days in early October in the arts community of ubud. Leading writers, publishers and other members of the literati gather to mutually enrich and inspire. (www.ubudwritersfestival.com
